The interest in this quilt is amazing. I am both honored and blessed to be able to participate. Anywho, without any further babbling, here is the tutorial. Keep scrolling for the cutting list and some pictures to help you put it all together!
Here are the cutting instructions. I used a jelly roll for this project, so all of the pieces are 2.5" wide.
FOR EACH BLOCK, you will need sixteen pieces or "logs."
For the entire 16 block quilt (makes a 56.5 x 56.5 quilt top. *** PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NNEED EXTRA STRIPS. ONE JELLY ROLL ISN'T ENOUGH FOR THE ENTIRE 16 BLOCK QUILT.
This block is constructed in these steps:
Sew a light and a dark 2.5" square together.
Press toward the dark piece.
Next, add the 4.5" strip to the right side. We will working counter clockwise around the unit. TIP: Use a test block as your guide!
Always press out toward the newly added "log."
Next, add the 4.5" dark fabric to the top. We will be adding in this way: dark, dark. Light, light for the rest of the block. Remember to work counter clockwise!
Add the dark 6.5" strip to the left next. Remember to always press toward the newly added "log."
Add the 6.5" light strip to the bottom.
Add the 8.5" to the right.
Add the 8.5" dark strip to the top.
Add the 10.5" dark strip to the left.
Add the 10.5" light strip to the bottom.
Add the 12.5" light strip to the right.
Add the 12.5" light dark strip to the top.
Add the final strip--14.5" dark strip--to the left. Press and square it up!
